It's
one of the INFORM® suite of applications; but it's unique. So we are devoting a complete separate
section to describing the features and benefits of the Inspire® module.
Managing the needs of exceptional students is notoriously complex; but modern web-based technologies
can simplify the process significantly. The Inspire module provides outstanding time-saving
opportunities for teachers, special education resource specialists, and staff involved in the process
of preparing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to help each student requiring special intervention.
For example, Individual Education Plan form templates can be customized in an online version to match local district, state and federal requirements. Apart from simple text fields, features such as drop down menus and tables are added to the template, making data entry for all the participants in the individual planning process as simple as possible. Using an online wizard, many of the problems of manual data entry and maintenance of paper forms vanish. |
 |
| Everybody involved in the process can access the forms from anywhere at any time. One result is that classroom teachers working with the exceptional education team become more closely integrated with the effort to support an exceptional student, because they can instantly connect to the most current information about that student. |
 |
| As you would expect, the Inspire feature offers extensive reporting
functions. In particular it enables users to keep track of the complex and demanding schedule of tests,
conferences and reports that inevitably develops when supporting many exceptional students simultaneously. |
 |
| In summary, Inspire needs are facilitated through the Individual
Education Planning feature. The Individual Education Planning feature itself greatly reduces paperwork
and ensures more timely intervention. Teachers and resource staff can work on different steps of the
Plan simultaneously from any location at any time. Since information is easy to access, the focus
remains on supporting the exceptional student's learning needs and abilities. |
